Google News has published the first batch of the company’s most-cited startups in the country.
The startup ranking, compiled by the online search giant, reveals that there are more than 1,600 companies in India that are worth Rs 5,000 crore.
Among them, Google said that the Bala Bharati Group, a digital payments company, is worth Rs 1,100 crore.
Google also noted that the Mumbai-based Kaleidoscope is worth a whopping Rs 2,000-crore, and the Mumbai startup Dora is worth over Rs 1 crore.
The search giant said that it has compiled the rankings from data from the companies’ founders, investors, investors’ agents, employees and other information gathered by Google’s analytics team.
The ranking will be updated over time.
